Zenith 1941Vintage #6D538 WORKING Wooden Tabletop AM Tube Radio – COLLECTABLE - 70 YEAR OLD ANTIQUE - WORKING ONE OF THESE JUST SOLD ON EBAY FOR $76.00 - NOT WORKING - and IN MUCH WORSE CONDITION. This auction is for a WORKING VINTAGE COLLECTABLE 1941 ZENITH model 6D538 tabletop wooden cased AM tube radio. The radio has all its parts: knobs, faceplate, feet, back. It has no cracked or other missing parts. It is still working , after 71 years. A working antique. The tubes are very weak, but it receives on the current tubes, however, they need replacing soon. The tuning dial works reasonably smooth, needing only a little lubrication. The tuner sounds scratchy and needs to be sprayed with tuner cleaner to reduce years of dust build up ( it would not be a bad idea to spray clean the tube sockets when replacing the tubes to ensure good electrical contacts ). The faceplate and lens are clear and very readable, and the grill is in very good condition, too. The wooded case is in very good condition with only a few small scratches, no splits or cracks. With a new set of tubes and a tuner cleaning you can be listening through the still working speaker. On / off switch and volume Knob also works freely and radio responds.
