Vintage Standard 12-transistor 6-band Is A Hefty Powerhouse Of A Radio!

Current Price: $ 118.88
High end, high quality radio from Standard Radio, makers of the Micronic Ruby and '60s and '70s Marantz stereo gear. Looks great but has three issues: A hairline in the center of the handle which doesn't impair functionality at all. I can pick up the radio by the handle without any effect on or movement of the hairline. Remember, this is an extremely well-made radio. #2 issue is the "suntanning" of the speaker grille that apparently happened through the holes in the leather case. #3 issue is corrosion in the battery box and one spring missing. Someone attached some wires there and I used them to test the radio. The radio takes three D-cells but I only had a three-penlite holder so I don't think I was giving the radio enough juice. Still, it received stations at low volume. Whether it would do better with a proper power supply, I don't know.Radio measures 6 inches high with the handle down and 11 inches wide. 12 transistors. 6 Bands: AM, LW, FM, and 3 shortwave bands. Model SR-L555F. Made in Japan. As you see, the leather case is included but one side of it is missing. Antenna is all complete and straight. This radio weighs 3 lbs, 13 ounces!
