VINTAGE PHILCO RADIO This vintage radio is made of wood and leather, with a leather carrying strap. It is marked PHILCO on the front. The dial can be covered with a sliding cover (see top photo on the right). I think this radio was made in the late 1940's. It is in very good vintage condition. It has only an AM dial. The back of the radio is shown in the second small insert photo. I will take a picture of the inside of the radio and update the photo if anyone wants to see this. I'm not a collector of radios, so if you have any questions of a technical nature I will not be able to answer them. I bought this radio in the early 1970's and have enjoyed listening to it. It still works. When I purchased this radio from a collectibles shop, there were 3 young teenage boys there admiring the radio. The shop owner was telling them that it was from the 1940's. One of the boys looked quite impressed and then he asked "Does it play modern music?"
